What does Life’s Best Moments…Furnished mean to you?
Everyone will be different, that is the beauty of this concept! With High Point Market right around the corner we are launching our Life’s Best Moments…Furnished social media campaign with Steelyard where you will have the chance to share with us what this concept means to you.
At Gabby, we believe that many of life’s best moments happen in and around the most intimate place in our lives…within what we call home. Our home can reflect us – not just our individual style but our overall lifestyle. Look around your home…what does your home surroundings say about you? How you choose to live, decorate, and what you choose to surround yourself with, tells others about who you are. A great design paints a picture of this story.
Your home should be a reflection of you and your family, both aesthetically and practically. Therefore, when it comes to designing a home, it is important to take all of these factors into consideration. So, where do you start? We turned to some of our favorite interior design experts to tell us what Life’s Best Moments…Furnished means to them when designing a client’s home.

1. It is not about style…it’s about lifestyle
“The very first question I ask a client when we begin designing their home is not about style… it’s about lifestyle. Do you have eight kids? Do you watch tv in bed? Do you like to cook? Seemingly mundane questions are actually the beginning of beautiful design. Fitting beauty around the way they would like to live is the very first way I let me clients know that I’m designing their space just for them!” – Lori Paranjape, Founder of Lori Paranjape Design and Interiors, Nashville, TN.

2. Create spaces you can truly live in
“A favorite image on my website is of my old living room and my daughter, then 4 years old, jumping on our sofa with our puppy. Below the photo is the caption “spaces you can live in,” which is my mantra for interiors. I believe spaces should be beautiful AND functional. I pride myself on researching and selecting the right pieces for clients based on durability, comfort, style and sustainability. This is what I love about Gabby furniture – it isn’t just for one season of life – it’s transitional. For instance, a Gabby dining table might do overtime – a workstation for arts and crafts for children and then fun dinner parties for adults.” – Tori Alexander, Founder of Alexander Interiors, Nashville, TN.

3. A home should offer us a sense of belonging
“Many of life’s most meaningful moments happen at home, and my goal is to elevate those everyday places. Home should offer us a sense of belonging – a reflection of our story and inspiration for the chapters to come. Whether it’s busy young children, our favorite furry friends, or a love of entertaining, how we live and who we live with has a direct impact on the environments we call our own. I dedicate the beginning of the design process to learning how the client envisions the function and aesthetics of each space. Then, our designs translate their personalities and priorities into beautiful, authentic interiors. Blending poetry with purpose, we thoughtfully improve each experience from the inside out, creating homes where families gather and grow in both comfort and style.” – Marie Flanagan, Founder of Marie Flanigan Interiors, Houston, TX.

4. Life and home are in the details
“I begin my design process by cultivating relationships with the clients. I do this by listening, understanding, and learning to see the world through their eyes. Learning everything I can from what side of bed they sleep on, where they drop their purse, how many babies will be making memories within the walls, what color were the bouquets at their wedding, even down to their drink of choice! I also enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with them. Getting to know their fondest memories of growing up. What traditions and memories do they want to continue to pass down from their grandparent’s and parent’s homes? My goal is to create a space for how people will remember their babies, how they will celebrate life’s joys, and cope with life’s tragedies. Life and home are in the details. And it is only a job that a friend can do.” – Ashley Gilbreth, Founder of Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design and Owner of Parish Shoppe, Montgomery, AL and Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

5. Family + Function = Fabulous
“I design spaces with function to fabulous in mind. Whether I am working with families who have children at home, who like to entertain, who have pets or who just want classic beauty that will stand the test of time, I know that Gabby will have what I need from lighting to upholstery to accent pieces. I feel confident using Gabby’s performance fabrics, I can say first hand that red wine will in fact come out of Sunbrella Linen Dove, and that same fabric will hold it’s own with 3 dogs and 2 cats who think we bought our Helena sofa specifically for them. Creating a space that has the wow factor, pieces that flow with the home while allowing that client’s personal style to shine through and boast durability is a combination that is tough to beat. I listen well and work hard to exceed the expectations of my clients and having the right tools to do so makes my job that much more fun. Thank you Gabby for being my go to source for family + function = fabulous.” – Lauren Clement, Founder of Lauren Nicole Designs, Charlotte, NC.
At Gabby, we want our furnishings to help make the experiences you have in your home with their friends and family that much better because the environment is more aesthetically pleasing, more comfortable, and thus more compelling than it would be without Gabby.
