When North Carolina-based interior designer Kate Hutchinson is searching for lighting options for a design project, Gabby lighting is at the top of her list. She enjoys featuring Gabby’s lighting in many of her homes. Each piece offers classic design and unexpected details that feel fresh. We were so glad that she shared her expert lighting tips with us.
Kate has quickly built one of the industry’s premier design firms. After growing up in the furniture industry and having a love of design from an early age, she opened Kate.H.Designs in 2015.
Kate’s approach to design is simple, focusing on function first. This method leads to spaces that are both chic and livable. Most recently she chose to feature Gabby’s Adler Chandelier in several of her design projects.
“I love the shape and scale of the Adler fixture because it’s wide enough for spaces that can handle a substantial light fixture. However, its height doesn’t feel intrusive. It’s perfect for making a statement without adding a ton of visual weight to a room. It’s also great for open floor plans because it doesn’t obstruct your line of sight when looking from one room to the next,” says Kate.
