New Design Trends Featured At the Gabby High Point Showroom

It should come as no surprise that the weeks leading up to High Point feel a little bit like Christmas Time around Gabby. “It’s been exciting to see all of our new products arriving,” says Gabby Designer Kai-ning Huang. “We love the new finishes we’re introducing and can’t wait to see how our customers at High Point react to them.”

Because reclaimed wood has trended well for Gabby, the design team has added some new pieces with simple lines and shapes with unique characteristics that transition well into a variety of design aesthetics. “Our new line really showcases relaxed, comfortable looks that can go into modern, transitional designs,” says Gabby Designer Hillary Park.

Kenway Coffee Table

The High Point Showroom

“It’s always fun to change things up,” says Creative Director Chris Hutchens. “So we’ve come up with some great ways to showcase our new products in our High Point Showroom. We’re painting the black floors white and bringing a Cabo theme to the main room.” There will be six different themed rooms to reflect the luxurious sophistication that Gabby is known for.

Helen Console Table

A Cabo Life

With a focus on relaxed luxury, furniture finishes are light, worn and weathered. This look is centered around oversized and casual upholstery that includes heavy linen fabrics, tie dye and accented crewel. The new Helen console table made from a charcoal oak base with a beautiful stone top adds to the lighten look of this vignette, as does the Shannon Breakfast Table with an exquisite whitewash oak finished tabletop.

LA Vie Boheme

Boho goes neutral and sophisticated in this look that’s inspired by Coachella and Scandinavian simplicity. The Rhodes Cabinet with unique end grain veneer on the front doors and the Ellen Acrylic Counter Stool with a slatted back both add to the style of this room.

Tokyo Blossom

This look finds its roots in “pretty.” A fresh Asian translation that creates an infusion of pastels, from cantaloupe to pale pink. Highlights of the vignette include the Lloyd Bar Cart made from brushed gold and antique mirror or the metal lantern style Fairfax Chandelier.

Farifax Chandelier

Botanist

A renewed appreciation of nature and organic lines can be discovered here where lab inspired glassware and cut greens layer against coffee tables and cabinets in dark cerused and charcoal oak. The strong lines and beautiful detailing of the Plato Nightstand and the white marble and antique brass Harper Task Lamp both enrich this natural space.

World Traveler

A room full of life and wonder, the World Traveler sets the tone of global sensibility. In addition to Gabby’s unique European vintage finds, this room showcases the recycled elm Jim Side Table and the Brynn Mirror made from antique black mirror.

Eclectic

Embracing variety is what we do best. In our thoughtfully designed product line, every piece is a unique individual that plays nicely with others, creating a harmonic balance of timeless design. You’ll find subtle color and enticing texture. Bold statement pieces and delicate accents. The eclectic look is versatile with its curated appeal and collected charm.

Dual Purpose and Storage

“We’re really taking a look at how our customers are living in their homes,” says Hillary. “We’ve designed several multifunctional pieces for this High Point show. For instance, with so many people working from home, we felt like desks were a much-needed category, so we designed several that can double as console tables.”

Gabby is also introducing an extension dining table that was inspired by a parson’s table. This table features hammered accents on top with an “X” inlay. The leaf continues that inlay and makes the table bigger.

We’re showcasing a new collection of media friendly pieces and several will be offered in darker wood tones. There are also small chests with soft close drawers. These unique pieces have flush hardware with interesting ways of opening and closing that gives them additional personality.

Shannon Breakfast Table

Materials

“There are some great mixes of materials this market,” says Kai-ning. “For instance, we love the mixture of white wash and charcoal oak on the Shannon Breakfast Table. We’re also excited about the reclaimed wood.” Because this is trending so well, we’ve added more console tables and coffee tables with simple lines and shapes. The material has such unique characteristics that it transitions well into a variety of design aesthetics.

Darker finishes are more prevalent this market with more black cerused oak on table tops and small accent pieces. In addition, we’re showing more black shagreen tables with more interesting metal tones. We’ve also included black antique mirror into more pieces, as it pairs nicely with our sleek, minimalistic metal tables. It also adds an antique feel and blends well with a lot of our furniture. You’ll see added antique notes on some of our chests to create pieces that flow nicely.

Brynn Mirror

Mirrors

The Gabby designers are particularly excited about the new mirrors this season with all of their interesting shapes. In addition to the popular antique black, we’re introducing a gold tone frame and an acrylic mirror.

Upholstery

The upholstery line this season is an extension of our most popular pieces. We’re introducing more skirted styles, clean lines and pretty shapes. There’s also a new chair and a half in the Winslow collection that’s big enough for two people or perfect for lounging.

Lighting

Between table lamps, sconces and chandeliers, Gabby will introduce 40 new lighting pieces at High Point this season. In addition to showing a variety of unique materials like agate and other organic finishes, we’re introducing ceramic lamps for the first time.

“Gabby is known for using unexpected materials,” says Gabby Designer Jill Harlan. “We’ve incorporated lots of golds, whites, and cool tones this market.”  Acrylic and gold bases are incorporated into several lamp designs for an added detail of sophistication.

There’s a large collection of sconces added to the lighting line this market that come in a variety of sizes and materials such as champagne, gold and reclaimed wood.
