Since Atlanta is such a big city with lots to see and do, we asked several Atlanta designers to pick some of their favorite spots for everyone headed to Atlanta for Americasmart. From great restaurants to great shopping––and even some places to relax––they narrowed down some of the best things to do in town.

We highly suggest visiting Scott’s Antique Market—all the vendors will be there and it will be like Christmas. Scott’s will be well stocked and prices will be lean. It always gives you something unique for any design project. During Market taking Marta to Buckhead is the perfect thing to do so you don’t have to wait to eat around the market—and if you take two stops north, you’re in midtown, and that way you get out of the downtown mart craze. If you’re still looking for hotels, there are better rates in midtown and Buckhead—and you ride Marta. Marta is very safe, and people shouldn’t be afraid to use it, especially during the day.

One hidden gem of a restaurant in Atlanta is KR SteakBar. It’s right beside ADAC and people in Atlanta don’t even always realize it’s there. It’s a Kevin Rathbun restaurant and the atmosphere is great. Anything on the West side is up and coming—there are good restaurants that range from sushi to Spanish to South African. One of my favorite restaurants there is Bocado, which is fairly close to the Mart. There are also good home stores and clothing stores. For great shopping and ambiance, it’s hard to beat the streets of Buckhead, which opened all the nice clothing shops and fancy restaurants and bars about a year ago that give a feel of Rodeo Drive.

One of our favorite spots in Atlanta is Woo Cosmetics, located in the same shopping center as our store. For lunch, we highly suggest trying out Upbeet, which has great salads, grain bowls and smoothies. We also recommend visiting the Spalding Nix Gallery to see Sally King Benedict’s work. And, finally, after a long day on your feet at market, stop by Treat Your Feet, for a fabulous foot massage.
