With its sculptural grace, prismatic composition, and (surprising) strength, lucite is one of the most versatile materials in our design arsenal. No matter the season, highly-adaptable acrylic always finds its way into Gabby’s freshest collections. Joined by four of our favorite designers, let’s countdown ten of Gabby’s most lust-worthy lucite looks.

Lucite

1. Hazel Chest:

For Kristen Yonson, co-founder of Swatchpop, the Hazel Chest was a timely discovery: “Lucite is one of our favorite materials currently.” While shopping for a client, Kristen happened upon the bold Hazel Chest. Accented by brushed brass hardware, the lucite handles and intricately molded drawers caught her eye. She shares, “This particular client moved from the city to a modern farmhouse in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, but loves a really updated and unique feel to her home. When she saw your dresser, it fit her taste perfectly…she just had to have them, and we agreed!”

2. Kira Pendant:

With a nod to mod styling, the Kira Pendant takes retro-cool to new heights. A halo of transparent lucite surrounds the antique brass base and bulb. Suspended over a sleek kitchen island, or strung above symmetrical bedside tables, Kira provides a simple yet chic lighting source.

NEW Gabby Sandy Barstool – Coming Soon

3. Sandy Barstool:

Bold, beautiful, and brand new, our Sandy Barstool was one of High Point Market’s most coveted frames. Designed with comfort in mind, its clear circular back is supported by a linear base. Come next fall, we expect to see Sandy’s golden legs gracing the hardwood floors of gourmet kitchens around the country.

Huxley Mirror: Image by Heidi Face for Courtney Giles Interiors.

4. Huxley Mirror:

Four columns of lucite surround the bright perimeter of our Huxley Mirror. Catching the light in its clear composition, this airy element juxtaposes the weight of its gilded gold frame. After patiently awaiting Huxley’s debut, Atlanta-based designer Courtney Giles says this picture-perfect piece was worth the wait: “We specified the Huxley mirror for our mid century modern bathroom renovation when it was first introduced. We waited for stock to arrive because the aged brass and lucite finish was absolutely perfect for our project. The lucite made it cool and hip while the aged brass finish dressed it up and tied it in with the bathroom fixtures.”

5. Belfast Sconce:

Available in antique gold or champagne silver, Belfast’s contrasting composition of metal and lucite feels remarkably current. Topped with a timeless linen shade, a translucent rod complements the graceful oval backplate. Mounted in a modern study or above a vintage clawfoot tub, the Belfast Sconce integrates effortlessly into a variety of different rooms.

6. Skylar Tray Table:

Ideal for entertaining, the Skylar Tray Table features a removable acrylic platform. The vintage-inspired frame may appear delicate, but the body is soundly constructed of stainless steel and gold plating. Mix cocktails in the parlor or keep Skylar bedside for books and fresh fleurs.

7. King Barstool:

Combat a cluttered kitchen with the seamless look of transparent lucite. Airy yet modern, the King Barstool is an industry favorite, and prominently featured in Becki Owens’ recent interior design work. The Southern California designer explains, “I chose the King Counter Stools for the kitchen of my Brio project because I wanted a stool that would still showcase the pretty cement tile on the base of the island. The clear, lucite seats were perfect for achieving this. I love the stool’s modern clean lines and brass details that add a sleek modern element to the space while preserving the open, airy feel of the room.”

8. Phoebe Table Lamp:

Just a hint of lucite elevates our hand-painted Phoebe Table Lamp. Resting on a clear acrylic base, this playful piece showcases a canister shape and linen shade. With a hypnotic feather motif and soothing green palette, Phoebe adds instant charm to an elegant guest suite or family room.

9. Gable Chair:

Resting on shapely lucite legs, the Gable Chair is our contemporary adaptation of a classic wingback frame. Flanking the fireplace or nestled into the master bedroom, this customizable chair promises to be the best seat in the house.

10.Penelope Chair:

Chrome and lucite are quite a dynamic pair. While the Penelope Chair may look weightless, the base is sturdy stainless steel. Nashville designer Natalie Hager shares her affinity for lucite furniture: “I love mixing modern materials like lucite with more traditional furniture like this pedestal table. The Penelope Chair’s clean lines and wipe-ability made them a great match for a family of five who wanted to blend family antiques with more modern pieces. The best part about the chairs is that they bounce light throughout the space making this a fun spot to linger.”
