More than 75,000 attendees descended upon the 11.5 million square feet of showspace spread among 180 buildings with more than 2,000 exhibitors to participate in the largest furnishings trade show in the world, High Point Market in High Point, NC. This highly discerning group of designers, retailers and editors were all curating through tens of thousands of new designer products to find the freshest resources for their clients.
And the Gabby showroom did not disappoint, offering more than 100 design introductions reflecting sophistication and style. From the moment that you stepped inside the doors from the crisp North Carolina air, you could feel the energy as you face the challenge of which collection to unearth first.
“Our showroom was as busy as I have ever seen it,” says Schon Duke, Vice President of Sales. “Every seat and space was taken throughout the show. In addition to our longtime dealers, we had new dealers coming by to see what the excitement was all about.”
Designers and the Best of Market
The designers tapped to be High Point Style spotters agreed that the Gabby showroom was filled with some of the leading looks and on-trend products at Market. Brynn Olson of Brynn Olson Design Group in Chicago, IL fell in love with the Theodore Coffee Table made out of cerused oak, a new material for Gabby this season.
While Laura Umanksy, of Laura U Interior Design with offices in Houston, TX and Aspen, CO, tapped the Elise Table Lamp as one of her favorite market pieces. “The Gabby showroom had such a nice mix of styles and textures,” says Southern Home editor Lynn Terry. “I feel that the lines offered well-design products for both the individual who is looking for great foundation furniture, but also offers a dazzling array of special pieces that complete a room. Everything is well-curated but also approachable.”
The Traditional Home editors love the finishes and textures applied to each product. “Each of the pieces has their own personality,” says Krissa Rossbund Traditional Home Senior Style Editor. “Each piece is unique in both style and shape. All Things France Celebration
Perhaps one of the most talked about features of the showroom was the Gabby Unique Finds Collection. Gabby owner and founder, William White, and creative director, Chris Hutchens, travel to the South of France each summer seeking out one-of-a-kind treasures to mix with the Gabby collection. “We’re not trying to turn into antiques dealers at Gabby,” says Chris. “Mixing antiques in with our collection adds that layer of interest, energy and patina to our collections––just as they would in someone’s home.”
Saturday, October 22nd offered a celebration of the Gabby products, our customers and the Unique Finds collection at the well-attended “All Things France” party where guests enjoyed French cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. This was followed on Sunday with a Mimosa Bar and Monday with French desserts and signature cocktails.
